Well, we finally got some time to work on the house this weekend… a few hours. So, Abby and I decided to get started on the siding. We installed Vinyl for about two hours. My camera wasn’t acting proper, but I got a few progress shots I was able to compile into a gif:
We purchased the vinyl early on in the process. Ideally, we wanted barn boards to be the siding for our house, but apparently that wasn’t meant to be. I’m toying with the thought of maybe doing the front face in wood and just have the back and sides in vinyl. Vinyl is cheap, but I don’t think it is very sustainable which is a bummer. Also, I’m not sure how it will put up when we move it.
Louis Burns used vinyl on the Austin House and he said it worked fine for his project. We decided it would probably work the best for our needs too.
