Week 70 Weigh-In : Weight Loss

Achievement Unlocked - Under 300 lbs.

I started a weight loss journey on started May 17th, 2011. Each week I thought I’d weigh in and let y’all know how I was doing. By week 6 I stopped recording… because by week 8 I wasn’t losing weight or actively trying. BUT, wouldn’t you know it, I’ve started to try again. And I’m down to 299lbs. (started at 324). This is a large milestone and is very motivating. I haven’t been under 300lbs. since 2005 when I picked up running for a few months. I feel like I am finally doing the right thing.

Last time I actively tried losing weight, I just went with exercise. Which is good, but was hard to maintain. I truly don’t want to make time for exercise. I feel my time is better spent elsewhere… at this point in my life. I can’t make a habit of it. Hopefully someday that will change. In the meantime, I have effectively been changing my diet. Less carbs, more fiber and more fruits and vegetables in general. That is it. I’ve started this about 6 or 7 weeks ago and have lost 15 pounds… without sacrificing time to exercise. ~2 pounds a week. That is pretty amazing. So, I’m going to keep at it and see how it goes.

Achievement Unlocked - Under 300 lbs.

I have met one of my goals and now can cross that off the list.

Where I’m at (324 starting):

Weight: 299lbs!

Hi there, just saw you on the tiny house map. It’s awesome to see someone in our area building a tiny house on wheels! It’s my hope to build one in the near future. Our ten year old want to try for a homeschool project.
Great job so far! and congrats getting your weight going down, keep it up!

      Thanks for the encouragement.

Building a Tiny House would be a huge undertaking for a 10 year old… but what a great project. I’m sure you’ve seen Austin’s Tiny House in CA. He started building when he was 16.

I hope you have already achieved your weight goal by now or at least still losing weight. I understand it can be completely difficult but as long as you have an inspiration or determination then you’ll achieve your goal in no time. 🙂 Keep up the good work! I agree with more fiber!
